PriceShape collects public price and stock data from webshops, marketplaces, and price comparison sites, and stores it in the MarketMap. This page explains which sources PriceShape uses, how it collects the data, and how you can extend what your account covers.
Price scrapers
PriceShape uses price scrapers, also called crawlers, to collect data. A crawler is a tool that visits product pages, reads the price, stock, and other attributes, and saves them in PriceShape.
You can see when PriceShape last checked a match in the Last scraped at timestamp on the vendor card in your product list. Vendor data is updated once a day.
Data sources
By default, PriceShape finds and collects offers through Google Shopping and the MarketMap. On Google Shopping, PriceShape only collects from Google's structured comparison pages. See: Why do Google Shopping results sometimes differ from what I see in PriceShape?
You can add more data sources to your account:
Marketplace feeds for marketplaces and price comparison sites
Manual matches for specific vendor product pages. See Add manual matches to the product list.
Contact our support team if you want to bulk import matches or if data is missing for a specific vendor. We can investigate and help you.
Marketplace feeds
A marketplace feed is an additional feed on top of the MarketMap. It pulls data from a selected marketplace, such as Amazon, Bol, or Idealo, into your account. See Overview of Marketplaces available in PriceShape for the full list.
Note: Marketplace matches follow their own update schedule and aren't managed by Intelligent Data Refresh.
Priority domains
A domain is a website PriceShape collects offers from, such as a store's site or a marketplace. Each country site counts as its own domain, so amazon.de and amazon.fr are two domains.
A priority domain is a domain you select for a higher level of monitoring, so the vendors that matter most to your business get extra attention. Priority domains are a paid feature. To add a priority domain or learn about pricing, contact your Customer Success Manager.
Intelligent Data Refresh
By default, PriceShape updates matches at a fixed interval of once a day. With Intelligent Data Refresh enabled, PriceShape updates matches more often than once a day when their prices change frequently. Intelligent Data Refresh is a paid feature, and a PriceShape admin can enable it for your account. For more information, see Intelligent Data Refresh.
