When you apply filters in the Product List, the Product Counter in the top bar will automatically update.

Applying a Product Filter (Brand example)

When you apply a filter using the Brand attribute, the Product Counter will adjust to display the number of products that match your filter criteria.

Example:

  • You start with 134 products in the Product Counter.

  • You apply the filter Brand is not X, which is applied to 89 products.

  • Behind the scenes, the system counts from 0 and then adds all products that fit the filter condition, in this case, products that do not have Brand X.

  • Those 89 products are then shown in the Product List and in the top bar counter.

Applying a Vendor Filter

When you filter by Vendor, the Product Counter updates depending on how the vendor condition is applied:

  • “Is” → Only products that match the chosen vendor(s) will appear in the Product List.

  • “Is not”

    • Products that have matches only from the excluded vendor(s) will not be shown in the Product List.

    • Products that have matches from the excluded vendor(s) and at least one other vendor will still appear, but the data for the excluded vendor(s) will be hidden. These will still be a part of the counter in the top bar.

Counter details

Here’s how the Product Counter behaves when filters are applied:

  • If a product matches multiple vendors (including the excluded one), it will still be counted.

  • If a product only matches the excluded vendor, it will not be counted.

  • If a product has no matches at all, it will not be counted.

  • Products with missing or expired vendor data are included in the Product Counter but excluded from Price Group widgets.

Example: Applying a Vendor “Is not” filter

Let’s say your Product Counter starts with 80 products. You apply a filter to exclude Vendor X:

  • 33 products match Vendor X → Vendor data is hidden from the list (since Vendor X is set to “Is not”).

  • 16 products have no matches → Excluded.

  • 1 product only matches Vendor X → Excluded (because it only matches the excluded vendor).

  • 1 product has missing vendor data from another vendor → Included in the Product Counter, but excluded from Price Group widgets.

After applying the filter, the Product Counter shows 63 products.
